We are wrapping up our women’s Bible study for the summer and last week we were looking back on how much we have learned since we began in September. We have discovered we have the God-given authority to use the Name of Jesus to win the battles against Satan in our lives. We learned that the gifts of the Holy Spirit (I Corinthians 12:7-11) are still needed and available for growth and unity for God’s Church and the world. We learned what the Bible has to say about having an effective, active prayer life. But above all, we discovered that God is stirring in us a desire for more. And I wonder, is God preparing us for something specific He has planned for us?

Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to proper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

Psalm 57:2 I cry out to God Most High, to God, who fulfills His purpose for me.

Psalm 139:16 All the days ordained for me were written in Your book before one of them came to be.

God has a plan and purpose for my life. Am I missing out on something great because I am content with mediocre? Am I stunting His plan for me because of my refusal to be moved beyond the comfortable? I believe God is saying to you, to me and to His Church: “I need you to want more because I have so much more in My plan to give you. But I will not give you what you do not want.”

Will we invite His Spirit to stir in us the desire for more growth, an in-depth study of His Word and a deeper prayer life? What is our response?
