We think we can identify evil when we see it and often it is very obvious. We watch the news and see the gang violence, ISIS, terrorism and mass killings and know that is evil. Yet II Corinthians 11:14 tells us that Satan disguises himself as an angel of light.

Satan’s disguise may look like harmless fun in Tarot cards, a séance or ‘flirting’ with witchcraft. And if we think he looks like a cute red man with a tail and pitch fork we forget that the Bible tells us he is a roaring lion looking to devour us. He may be disguised as someone on TV who tells us that we find our joy, inner peace and wholeness when we get in harmony with our own spirituality. Satan whispers the lie that all religions lead to the same god. But John 14:6 tells us, Jesus answered, “I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father (God) except through me.” Jesus, when he was tempted by the devil, quoted scripture to him and the devil left.

James 2:19 “You believe that there is one God. Good! Even demons believe that-and shudder.” The demons know that Satan is not strong enough to fight God and it fills them with fear. Luke 8:28b (the demon is speaking) “What do you want with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I beg you, don’t torture me!” Demons are terrified of the power of Jesus.

I choose to serve Jesus; the One who makes Satan flee and demons tremble.
