Rita Dill
KEOTA – Rita Dill, affectionately known as “Peaches,” age 87, of Keota, died Monday, June 17, 2024, at her home, surrounded by her family.
Rita was born December 31, 1936, in Washington County, Iowa, the daughter of Warren and Mildred (McCarty) Davis. She graduated from Keota High School and attended the University of Iowa for two years. On June 22, 1957, she married Terry A. Dill at the Methodist Church in Keota. The couple lived in Keota, where Rita was a secretary for their company, Keota Manufacturing, and later worked as a clerk at Malley Hardware for 15 years, retiring in 1990. She was a member of the United Church of Faith and Women United. Rita was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and served on the Wilson Memorial Library board. Her family’s biggest fan and supporter, Rita enjoyed the Iowa Hawkeyes, watching “The Bold and the Beautiful,” playing bridge, outings with her good friends, Joyce and Mimi and a good happy hour.
Survivors include three children: Tami (Scott) Brees of Keota, Tracy (Kristy) Dill of Bemidji, Minnesota and Dawn (Tim) Woltering of Keota; eight grandchildren; one step grandchild; 18 great grandchildren and two step great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband: Terry in 1990 and brother: Robert Davis.
Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 20, 2024, at the United Church of Faith, with Pastor Vince Homan officiating. Burial will be at Keota Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 19, 2024, at Powell Funeral Home in Keota.
