It is just me. I am a 57 year old woman. I am of average intelligence and my hair is turning gray. I am a wife, mother of three and a grandma of four. I tell corny jokes and I love to sing. I am just every day, ordinary me. Look at Moses; he was raised by an Egyptian princess yet when God called him to lead the Israelites, Moses had been a shepherd for 40 years. Consider David; a young shepherd boy who killed a giant and became one of the greatest kings in history. Mary, a young Jewish girl, became the mother of Jesus the Savior of the world. Look at the disciples; a motley crew of fishermen and a tax collector. These men were not highly educated or wealthy yet their witness changed the world. Look at Corrie Ten Boom, Billy Graham and your local pastor. Think about the teacher who took an interest in your child or the coach who taught the importance of a good character above the importance of winning. I am guessing that not one of these people considered themselves terribly important or worthy to be used by God.

Now think about you. I am sure you have a list of reasons God would not want to use you. By the world’s standards that list could be right but do you want to know something? We don’t live by what the world thinks of us. If you have Jesus living in you, you are a mighty warrior and God can’t wait to use you in His army. (Ephesians 6:14-18) So suit up, dear Christian, and get ready for the Holy Spirit to empower you to do great things for God. Because with ‘just you’ and God, you are invincible!
